There are beautiful weddings, and there are really unique weddings. And many times it is revealed in the cake. How about a mountain cake in your wedding? Last week I made a wedding cake and cupcakes for one such wedding involving the woodsy theme of the Rocky Mountains where the couple enjoy their time.
When aspects of the planning, the venue and the details are personalized, it makes for a lasting memory and a reflection of who the bride and groom are, or how they met.
I could go on and on about the details so I will focus on the cupcake toppers and mountain cake today:
The cupcakes were dark chocolate cake and vanilla butter with raspberry and vanilla buttercream. Each was topped with a fondant mountain (perhaps a tutorial to come), and placed on the wooden tower I posted last week.
The clay topper I showed you yesterday was placed atop a cake representing a mountain, complete with trees and flowers. The colours of the wedding were incorporated where we could. Throughout the display you will see little Hershey’s kisses personalized with the couples’ names and the date of their wedding. So cute! The cake was placed on a simple wooden stand to match the look of the tower.
When I arrived to set up I was impressed to see the wooden theme throughout the room with fantastic rustic centrepieces. It was the most personalized reception hall I’d seen in awhile.
Jen and John were great to work with and I wish them all the best in their marriage.
