School Bus Cookies: First Day of School (Part IV)Friday, September 6, 2013
It’s the final day of the four-part series of the First Day of School Cakes and, now, school bus cookies. A few months back I made 800 cupcakes for the closing of the three elementary schools in our town, as the county is creating a “super school” for all of the kids to be combined together. Misgivings? Of course. Especially when it is the first day of school and the super school is not ready.
The busses are now lined up for two blocks, trying to get the kids in and out of the cramped buildings (the former schools) and we walkers have to maneuver our way through them. Chaos is right.
So what do we do? Eat cookies! School Bus Cookies!
One of my top clients ordered these boxed cookies for the end of the school year, but really, you could make these for Christmas teacher gifts, or the first day of school gifts. A sweet treat on the first day our school year may help calm the stress of teaching kids into what was once the library or gymnasium.
Note: I am not making cookies any longer!
I really like packaging. I have always liked wrapping gifts and presenting things in pretty packages. So when I was looking for ways to present and sell cookie boxes I googled a few sites and found L&V Sweets. Their cookies are beautiful, and their packaging was the inspiration behind mine.
So, I hope you enjoyed this four-part series. I’ll let you know how the school situation turns out – hopefully the new school will be ready soon.
For the rest of the series:
